Why use Heat Treated Pallets?
Compliance
ISPM-15 is also known as International Phytosanitary Measure 15. It is a set of regulations that govern the international transport of wood packaging materials. Regulations are intended to prevent the spread of diseases and pests into new environments. All pallets that comply with the ISPM-15 regulations have met the Heat Treatment requirements and have been stamped. This allows for international shipping.
Safety
Wood naturally gathers moisture because it is porous, and mold thrives from that. So, Heat Treating your pallets greatly reduces the possibility of mold and or pests transferring onto your company’s products and causing damage.
What is the process of Heat-Treating Pallets?
Pallets are put into our in-house Kiln. There are probes which detect the temperature inside of the Kiln and all temperatures are recorded in Five-minute intervals. All probes must reach a minimum temperature of 133 degrees Fahrenheit, and all active probes must reach and hold that temperature for a minimum of 30 minutes. Lastly, pallets are removed from the Kiln and are then stamped and are ready for export.
